The deadline has now passed in which to apply for a primary school placement for your child. You should have now received (or will shortly receive) confirmation of if your child has been accepted in to one of the schools you listed on your application form.
Unless you are applying for a private school, then the decisions are often made based mostly on location. If you live within the area and the school has the capacity then they will usually offer your child a placement.
If you live out of are but have a sibling going to that school then you may also get preferential treatment as to if a place is offered but this is not guaranteed. If you have not been accepted in to your first choice of school then you may have been offered a place at a second or third choice (if you selected one). If you are unhappy with the decision then you can ask for it to be reconsidered but you would need to give valid reasons for doing so.
