Finding your teaching style

Being a teacher can be a very rewarding job. It is also quite challenging at times, but most teachers will tell you that the job satisfaction far out weights the negative side of the job.

When teachers first start to teach, they will often have to try out a few techniques over a period of time to find out their own teaching style and even when they do find it, they may have to be able to adapt depending on the age and ability of the children that they are working with.

Teachers need to find a balance between having control of the class and ensuring they learn what they need to, and keeping the lessons fun and exciting. There are some great courses available that will explore different teaching styles and offer ideas about how to teach in a way children will respond to.

Teachers often get better with time, as when they first start to teach it can be quite different to how they imagined and a little daunting, but over time they quickly settle in.
